The Scorpions were formed in the fall of 2009 as a boys U10 team. This fall (’12) we had a strong showing in Division 3 of the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and will be playing again in Division 3 in the spring of 2013! The Scorpions started in Division 6 in the spring of 2011.

Head coach Chris Jensen has been coaching the Scorpions since their founding. He holds a US Soccer D coaching license, and has 13 years of experience coaching boys youth soccer.

The team practices three days per week in the fall and spring seasons, and participates in two tournaments each season. During the winter, we have one indoor practice per week and participate in indoor soccer and futsal leagues.

Tryout Information

STER Orange 99 (a.k.a. Sterling Scorpions) are now holding open tryouts. We are looking for two or three additional skilled field players to round out the team for the spring 2013 season in NCSL Division 3!

If you are interested in trying out, please contact Coach Chris Jensen (info below) and we will set something up. We practice and play home games at the Potomac Lakes Sportsplex.

Scorpions are 2012 Battlefield Tournament Champions

The Sterling Scorpions are Battlefield Tournament 2012 Champions

In October the Scorpions were champions of the Blue Division at the Battlefield Tournament 2012! It was a very exciting tournament, coming down to a final rainy game.

In November the Scorpions participated in The Hunt Country Fall Classic tournament, but did not advance.
